Marie Kries Orlopp, 82, a Manitowoc resident, died Friday, May 5, 1989 at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 am at Holy Innocents Catholic church, Manitowoc. Presiding at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Leo J. Schmitt with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Marie Rose Kries was born June 23, 1906 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Johanna Reindl Kries. She attended Manitowoc schools and was a 1924 graduate of Lincoln High School. She married Easton Orlopp at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1940. Mrs. Orlopp was employed by the City of Manitowoc at the City Hall as a switchboard operator for over 20 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Judith Orlopp of Gajreb, Yugoslavia, Dale and Judy Orlopp of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Roy Fairchild of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren and a great grandson also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy, three grandchildren and two brothers.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 5 pm to 8 pm Monday. Prayer service will be held at 7 pm led by Deacon Paul Kieffer.
