ALICE L. OSWALD

Alice L. Oswald, age 100, a long time resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life early Tuesday morning, October 2, 2012 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.


The former Alice Mrotek was born in Manitowoc on February 23, 1912, daughter of the late Adam and Rose (Osesek) Mrotek. She attended St. Mary School and vocational school in Manitowoc. On September 16, 1935 she married Emil W. Oswald at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1963. In her early years, she worked at Mirro as a packer and at a local movie theatre as an usher. After attending vocational school classes, she became an excellent seamstress and fur restyler.


Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Yvonne (Don) Cayemberg, Manitowoc, Arlene (John) Donnan, New Lenox, Illinois; eight grandsons: Tom (Diane) Cayemberg, Manitowoc, Michael (Kay) Cayemberg, Manitowoc, Kevin Cayemberg, Two Rivers, Curt (Wendy) Cayemberg, Manitowoc, Craig Cayemberg, Valders, Dale (Gayle) Cayemberg, Valders, Joe (Jennifer) Donnan, Oak Lawn, Illinois, Jim (Luci) Donnan, Barrington, Illinois; 14 great grandchildren: Eric, Kendra, Kiley, Cole, Brenna, Carly, Caitlyn, Clair, Payton, Parker, Palmer, Ryan, Abigail, Olivia; two great great grandchildren: Brandon and Coty; and one sister-in-law: Harriet Mrotek. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Theresa Mrotek, Susie (Max) Mrotek, Ervin (Leona) Mrotek, Ethel Rudin and Joseph Mrotek.


Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.


The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 until 10:15 a.m.
