EARL D. OTHERSALL
(1912 • 1984)
16-MONTHS OLD BABE IS SEVERELY SCALDED AND MAY LOSE LIFE AS A RESULT
Toddling up to a gas stove, in the absence of the mother from the house for a few minutes, the 16 months' old child of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Othersoll, North Tenth street, pulled a kettle from the stove and was caught under the scalding contents and severely burned about the face, arm the chest and one side of the body, yesterday. The injuries of the child are serious and may cost its life.
Mrs. Othersoll, who in preparing the noon-day meal had placed a kettle of meat on the stove, left the room for a few seconds when the child overturned the kettle and was burned. The cries of the little one reached the mother who hastened to the house, cared for the babe and summoned a physician.
The child's injuries are severe, the side of the face, one arm, the chest and body being scalded.
