CHESTER W. OUDINOT

(1904 • 1976)


Chester W. Oudinot, 72, formerly of 2612 Meadow Ln., Manitowoc, died Sunday evening at Rocky Knoll Health Care center, Plymouth.


Masonic rites will be read by Manitowoc Masonic Lodge No. 65 at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by past worshipful master Kenneth Hendrick, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. There will be military graveside services conducted by VFW Otto Oas Post No. 659.


Mr. Oudinot was born Jun 25, 1904, at Chelsea, Wis., son of the late George and Hanna Newsman Oudinot. He was educated in schools in Appleton. He married Lorraine Wattawa in 1958 in Chicago. She preceded him in death in 1968. He was a member of Magnolia Masonic Lodge of Biloxi, Miss., of Manitowoc Eagles Aerie No. 706 and the Manitowoc Chapter of Isaac Walton League of which he was a past secretary. He was an alderman of the First Ward from 1958 through 1963. He came from a long line of Army family with his great great grandfather, General M. Oudinot, fighting in France with Napoleon. He later became a duke. His great grandfather fought in the Civil War and his father was a World War I captain. Mr. Oudinot entered the U.S. Army July 16, 1924 and was discharged Feb. 29, 1956, as a Staff Sargent of the Army Air Force, Fourth Squadron in the European Theater.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Stephanie) March, of Manitowoc, a stepbrother, Roy Oudinot, of Grants Pass, Ore., a step sister, Mrs. Dolly Grahams of Weshram, Wash., and nieces and nephews.


Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday where a memorial service will be conducted by the Eagles Aerie No. 706 at 7 p.m.
