Walter P. Owart, 81, of 531 S. 31st St., Manitowoc, died Sunday noon, Oct. 13, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc, where he had been a resident the past 2 years. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral home and 10 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Eugene Brochtrup will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.


Mr. Owart was born Jan. 18, 1904, at Manitowoc, son of the late Charles and Mary Landt Owart. He married Florence Wittman, Oct. 11, 1925 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death Nov. 23, 1968. Mr. Owart was employed for 49 years at Mirro Company, Manitowoc, retiring in 1968.


Survivors include a son, Orrin Owart of Manitowoc; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Carl and Norma Owart and LeRoy Owart all of Manitowoc; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mrs. Emma Rocque of Milwaukee and Leone and Victor Vetting of Port Richey, Fla., nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Tech and Linda Nebel.


Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral home, Manitowoc, 6 pm to 9 pm Tuesday, where a prayer service will be 8 pm. Tuesday.
