Samuel Tubbs Angler was born in Pembroke, Pymouth County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Samuel Tubbs & his wife
Mary. Samuel Tubbs changed his name to Samuel Tubbs Angier on Feb 29,1812.He received his A.B. Degree in 1818, his M.D. Degree in 1823 from Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island. Samuel Angier along with his 2 partners, received a sitio of land on the west bank of Choclate Bayou three leagues above its mouth on Aug 16,1824, the land is now in Brazoria County. Additionlly, Angier was granted a labor of land on the east bank of the Brazos four miles above its mouth on Aug 24,1824. April 30,1829, he married Old Three Hundred colonist Mrs Permelia Pickett.
Samuel Angier was one of four physicians of Brozaria Municipality in the 1820's, appointed by ayuntamiento to Examine the qualifications of persons wishing to pratice surgery & medicine in the municipality. Feb 1, 1836 which was held at Washington On The Brazos. On June 28,1842 as a widower, Samuel married Mary Ann Augusta Kendell at Monroe County, Ala. They were the parents of Eugene Luther Angiier (who died in Huntsville, Tex). Samuels 3rd marriage was to Mary O'Brian Millard on May 25, 1857 in Galveston, tex. As a Freemason Samuel was a charter member of St Johns Lodge No. 49 (later to St Johns Lodge No 5), organized in Columbia in 1848, & was selected grand master of the lodge on June 1,1848. He served as lodge treasurer in 1849 & 1850 & was junior sterward in 1858 & junior warden in 1861.
