Clarence was the son of Paul W. and Nina Gaddis Figg.

He played high school basketball with tremendous tenacity that enabled him to average 18.9 ppg as a junior and 23.5 ppg as a senior in 1969, earning him team MVP and all SWIAC Conference first team honors. He held the Edgewood single game scoring record of 42 points that stood for almost 40 years.

He served in the US Air Force at Andrews AFB, and in the Air Force National Guard. He was employed by Sam Reese Trucking, Stevens Transportation, Mick Cowden Trucking and Indiana University. He loved farming with his uncle Benny. He was a member of the Gosport VFW Mens Auxiliary Post 7850, Spencer American Legion Post 285 and was raised a Master Mason in Ellettsville Lodge F&AM 245.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Loretta.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Harriet Wall Figg, sisters, Bonnie and Cheryl, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville, with burial at Old Dutch Cemetery.
