Marion Copper, 76 August 1, 2012

Marion Yvonne {Barnes} Copper was born Feb. 10, 1936, at Danbury, Nebr. to Lyle Kermit and Mary Alice (Patterson) Barnes. She passed away at the Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow, Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the age of 76.
Marion attended the Snake Run School near Broken Bow before her family moved to the Brewster area. She graduated from Brewster High School in 1954.
February 3, 1957, Marion married William O. Copper, Sr and to this union four children were born; William O Copper, Jr., Mary Belle, Lanona Marie, and Leo Kermit.
The family spent approximately 19 years working on the Higgen's Ranch north of Thedford. They later moved to a farm near Stapleton, and then to the Tryon area.
Marion's husband suffered a stroke in 1989, and they moved to Custer Heights in Broken Bow. Marion was baptized in the Berean Church at the Marinatha Camp.
Those left to mourn her passing are son, Williarn O Copper and Cheryl of Lexington; daughter, Mary Belle Brakeman of Americus, Kan., and daughter Lanona Marie Krueger of Lexington; sisters, Lauretta Rice of Alda, Winnona Love of Dunning; and brothers Everett and wife Patti, Maynard and wife Linda, and Lyle and wife Jan, all of Broken Bow. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, eight nieces, and six nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents; son, Leo Kermit; her husband; brother-in-law, Donald Rice, and son-in-law Rodney Brakeman.
Graveside services were Tuesday, July 31 at the Broken Bow Cemetery with the Rev. Larry De Moss officiating. Marion's grandchildren were honorary pallbearers.
