Please Do Not Copy Portraits from this memorial without my consent. The child in the newest picture is still living. 4th child, 3rd daughter of Dwight Jennings Swift and Myrtle Atoria Wang. She was half Norwegian, while the rest of her ancestry appears to be a mix of English, Irish, and possibly Welsh. Roma Lou was, in time, to have 2 younger sisters. For nearly 7 years, though, she was "the baby". Born in Buckeye Township, Hardin County, somewhere between the towns of Buckeye and Williams, probably extremely close to the Hamilton County line. Wife of Dale Thies. She had her Dad's blue-green eyes. I have her nose and hair color. No children or grandchildren, born either to her or her siblings, have developed, other than me, anything close to her hair color as it eventually grew to be. She was born with white blonde hair, just like me. It turned darker, and was a strange mix of blonde, red, and brown, sometimes called ash blonde. Her sisters do strongly resemble her however, and one has similar hair color, only with more red. She was the mother of several children, particularly if you include several of her sisters' children that she frequently cared for and treated as her own throughout life. However, in years to come, not all of them treated her well as they could have or should have. She died at the Eldora Motel. They had owned this business since 1971, but only made it their home for part of that time. Pancreatic Cancer took my Grama away from me. She was a cross betweeen Glynis Johns & Katharine Hepburn,(believed to be an extremely distant cousin), or at least that's the best way I can describe her looks and personality. This page is dedicated to the uncertain number of her children who, due to miscarriage, did not survive.
