OBITUARY
DEATH OF AN AGED PIONEER

Henry B. Lord, one of the pioneer settlers of this county died Wednesday, Feb. 10th at the home his son, Geo. W. Lord, north of this city, aged 81 years. His death was due to a breaking down incident to his great age and was not accompanied with disease or suffering.
The deceased was a native of Champlain, N. Y., and was born in August, 1822. He was married when 28 years of age at North Island, Vt., to Adelia Demo who survives him, also living with her son, with whom the old couple has lived with for 25 years.
Mr. Lord came to McLeod county in 1865 and brought a small farm in the then wilderness of the town of Winsted where he lived until a short time ago.

Four children survive Mr. Lord; Geo. W. of Hutchinson; Sherman Lord, who resides at Buffalo, Minn.; Mrs. John Finney of this city and Mrs. Ben. Pettijohn of LaPorte, Hubbard county.
Mr. Lord was a man of admirable charactre' whose standing among his neighbors was the highest. He had followed the vocation of a farmer all his life, and was for many years a member of the Methodist Church.
The funeral will be held at the home of the son, Geo. W., on the Wm. Rahn place north of this city this afternoon at two o'clock, and interment will be made in the Hutchinson cemetery. Rev. J. G. Crozier will conduct the funeral services.
