Murder Victim. He was the son of Francis Scott Key, the author of "The Star-Spangled Banner." He was an American lawyer who served as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. He was shot and killed by Congressman Daniel E. Sickles in Lafayette Square across the street from the White House.
