He was born in Frontenac to Anton P. and Mary A. Schramm Kotzman. He lived in Frontenac until moving to Pittsburg in 1952. He graduated from Frontenac High School.
He married Clara F. Pabst on Dec. 5, 1952, at Lamar, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army from Aug. 31, 1942, to June 13, 1946, and served in Germany during World War II.
Mr. Kotzman worked as a pipe patcher for the Dickey Clay Company in Pittsburg for 33 years. He later worked as a machine operator for Woodmark of Chanute for four years and was later employed by Crawford County for three years. He also worked at the Doggie Bag for several years.
He was active in the SEK Humane Society.
Mr. Kotzman was of the Catholic faith and was amember of the Frontenac American Legion Post No. 43.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Susan Mitchell of Chanute; two brothers, John Kotzman of Frontenac and Edward Kotzman of Springfield, Tenn.; a sister, Christine Berteau of 403 S. Elm; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Anton and Leonard Kotzman; and four sisters, Marie Dabrowski, Helen Plouvier, Barbara Bell and Katherine Squillace.
