Severo Abiles, 72, Lordsburg resident died Tuesday, September 24 at Sunshine Haven Nursing Home. Visitation was Sunday afternoon from 5:00 until 7:00 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the prayer vigil that evening at 7:00. The funeral liturgy was Monday morning at 10:00 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. Paulus Kao officiating. Interment followed at Shakespeare Cemetery. He was born May 13, 1919 in Junction, Texas and was a farmer. He was a Lordsburg resident for 20 years and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Severo was a Veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Rosa of the home; a son, Louis Abiles, Glendale, Arizona; 4 brothers, Andres Abiles and Jesus Chuy Abiles both of Junction, Texas, Martin Abiles, Fairmont, Illinois, Billy Abiles, El Paso, Texas. 2 sisters, Amelia Abiles, Fairmont and Audelia Torres, Junction, Texas; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
