Married the widow Elizabeth Yarnall in 1850 at and took the family across the Atlantic twice to the US. The second time as Mormon immigrants in 1868. In 1869 he became an ordained Elder in Omaha. He was excommunicated in 1879, but reinstated 3 years later.
After Elizabeth's death in 1891, he remarried in 1892 to Abigail Griffin.
