Marc was serving with the Princess Patricia's Light Infantry in Afghanistan in 2002 when he died because of friendly fire. He had been in the Canadian Forces for about 9 yeares and had served in Bosnia during the early 90s where he had tried to help refugees. He was buried in the town of Lancaster, Ontario, Canada.
