Born on Dec 10, 1912 in Salt Lake City, UT to Alfred William Peterson and Mary Sophronia Smith Peterson. He was a member of the LDS Church where he served in numerous positions, served an LDS mission to Sweden, served in the Army Air Corps in World War II, and worked in the LDS Church Historian's office under his uncle Joseph Fielding Smith.
Survived by his sister, Mary; numerous nieces and nephews (who think of him as uncle Joseph); many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Services will be Tues. May 29, 2001, 11 a.m., Monument Park LDS 1st Ward chapel, 1005 S. 2000 E, where friends may call 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Mt. View Memorial Estates. Funeral directors Larkin Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund.
