Ruben Pendley drew Cherokee Gold Land Lottery in 1832 in Gwinette Co., GA. He was in Fayette Co., AL in the 1850 census. He left there and went to Texas where he owned a lot of property that he divided amongst his children when he left Texas and came back to Alabama and died.
Ruben was the husband of Mary Ann Hisaw Pendley, son of Benjamin Pendley and Elizabeth COMPTON Pendley.
Tradition says that the Hisaw's were Cherokee Indians.
