Home of record at time of death was State College, Oktibbeha County, MS.

LC entered the army in 1968, he trained at FT. Polk LA. for Advanced Infantry Training after completion he went to FT. Benning, GA. to NCOIC class 38-68 and graduated with the rank of SGT. E-5.

He then went to Airborne Training for 3 weeks and completed the course. He was in the 2nd class to jump the C-141 Starlifter jet, he did 5 jumps and obtained his jump wings.

In Sept 1968 he went back to FT. Polk and trained future infantry soldiers for Vietnam. Dec 1968 he arrived in Vietnam and was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, he died while trying to save another soldier in an ambush...he is a true American Hero.
