Married in 1845 to Jeanette Withey who died in 1882. They had two children, Mrs. Adell Stratton of Wyoming and Mrs. Mary Gilbert of Rochester, who survive him.
in 1891 he married for a second time. Mrs. Jennie Moon also survives.
