Gary proudly served his Country in the US Army, Military Police. He was employed as a Sergeant at the Grafton Correctional Institute in Grafton for 13 years. Gary was also an officer in the Lorain Minority Law Enforcement Association. He attended Friendship Baptist Church in Lorain. Gary was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Lakers fan who enjoyed wrestling, football, watching movies and spending time with his family.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his loving wife of 14 years, Deborah (Brown) Donald; sons, Gary Donald Jr. and Tajh Malik Donald, both of Lorain; step-sons, Eramis Gaddie of San Diego, California, Efrain Gaddie, Javier Taylor and Harold Jackson, all of Lorain; step-daughter, Jasmine Taylor-Hood of Fort Bragg North Carolina; granddaughter, Sha'niyah Donald; parents, Woodie and Jimmie Donald of Lorain; sister, Linda Donald-Collins of Lorain and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rosie and Willie Lee and paternal grandparents, Penny and Haywood Donald.
Wake Monday May 2, 2011 from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at noon at Frienship Baptist Church 2160 Reeves Ave., Lorain. The Rev. John R. Jackson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 20, of Lorain.
