"Clyde Aikens, Western Sparta Farmer Dies; Ill Several Weeks - Deceased, Aged 67, Was Member of Grange - Spartansburg, Jan 27 - The community was grieved on Monday morning to learn of the death of Clyde Aikens, age 67, which occurred at 8 am at his home in Western Sparta, after an illness of several weeks. He was one ot the prosperous farmers of his community and will be greatly missed. He leaves his wife and two sons, Ray Aikens of Wesleyville and Merle Aikens of Cottage Hill, and one daughter, Mrs George Rose, who resides near the Aikens farm; also a daughter-in-law, Mrs Wayne Aikens of Erie, and several grandchildren. The body will be taken home Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 pm from the late home. Rev W H Garnett will officiate and interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery."
