He was a member of Friedens United
Church of Christ, Albion Moose Lodge and
the Masonic Lodge. Born February 3, 1917
in Albion he was the son of Thomas and
Lottie Green Frankland. The family moved
to Akron, Ohio when he was two years old,
then later moved back to Edwards County.
He was married to Helen Raber on February
13,1944.The Rev. Robert M. Dohm of
Springfield, Missouri, a former pastor at
Friedens, officiated at the services.
Thomas Joseph Frankland, 53, died at his
home about 11:45 p m.Sunday, of an appar-
ent heart attack. He had been under a
doctors care for diabetes and a heart
condition, but his death was unexpected
as he was working regularly.
Services are being held this (Wednesday)
afternoon at 1:30 from the Ingram Funeral
Home, with the burial at Friedens Cemetery
south east of Browns.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Helen
Frankland of Albion, a son Donald of Bloom-
ington, Indiana; his mother, Mrs.Lottie Frank-
land of Albion; three sisters Mrs. William
(Lois) Newlon of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Raymond
(Mary Ruth) Horton of Albion and Mrs. Allen
(Maxine) Nevius of Shenandoah,Iowa; three
brothers, Virgil Franklin of St. Petersburg,
Florida and Leo and Glenn of Albion.
Mr. Frankland was part owner of the Albion
Locker and packing Co. and had managed
the business for the past three years. He had
previously worked for his father’s International
dealership as a mechanic for a number of
years, for Beckermans Massey Ferguson
tractor business between Albion and Mt.
Carmel as a mechanic and had farmed and
conducted a meat processing business at his
home. He attended meat cutter’s school 1959
