Hilbert E. Zill, 81, of R. 1, Newton, died early today at Manitowoc Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Thursday.
Born Dec. 15, 1892 in the Town of Ceneterville, he was a son of the late Gustave and Emma Walters Zill.
On May 1, 1920 he married Ella Wilke. The couple farmed in the Town of Centerville.
They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1970.
He was a member of Ss. John and Peter Lutheran Church, Cleveland.
Survivors include his widow, three sons, Edward of Cleveland, Adrian of Howards Grove and Richard of R.1, Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Laverne) Scharenbroch of R. 1, Newton; 18 grandchildren and a brother, Harry of Sheboygan.
Three sisters, two brothers and a grandchild preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ss. John and Peter Church, the Rev. Henry Koch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Johannes Cemetery, Cleveland.
Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel, Cleveland from 4 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday and at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
