A. Marie Steffey, 100, Lawerenceville, died at 2:55 pm Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at her home. She was born Dec. 17, 1903, in Lawerence County, the daughter of Amon and Josie (Malone) Petty. An avid golfer, she was a charter member of the Ruth Lake Country Club, Chicago, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lawerenceville. She married Stanley Steffey Sept, 4, 1926 and he died June 22, 1992. Her stepfather, Frank C. Parker, 3 sisters and 4 brothers are decesed. Several nieces and nephews survive. The funeral was at 3 pm Wednesday, at the Emmons-Macey and Steffey Funeral Home, Lawerenceville with the burial in the Lawerenceville City Cemetery.
