West Ave., formerly of New Brunswick, died Tuesday at Waukesha Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Voorhees was born in Franklin and was a graduate of Blair Academy, Blairstown, and Rutgers University, New Brunswick. He retired nine years ago as director of employment practices for General Motors Corp., after working for the company for 41 years. For the past four years, he was a volunteer worker at the Waukesha Training Center for handicapped persons. At Rutgers, he was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He is survived by his wife. Lillian: a daughter, Nancy Laitner of Waukesha, and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Verheyden Funeral Home, Crosse Point, Michigan. Entombment will follow at Wood-lawn Cemetery, Detroit. Memorial donations can be made to St Matthias Episcopal Church or the Waukesha Training Center.
