I know A. K. Alderman. He was a Private in Capt. William Ray's Co. K, 30th Mississippi Infantry, Gen. R. C. Walthall's Miss. Brig. enlisted from Carrollton, Miss. in 1862. There was no other Company K. 30 Miss, Regt. Infantry in the Tenn. Army. We called him Abe. He made a good soldier always on hand when duty called him. There were few soldiers as good as Abe, never shirking a duty, even in battle. All of our company liked Abe Alderman, by reason of his manhood, as well as by reason of the fact that he was a Confederate soldier. Am only too sorry that I cannot say enough in his behalf, as a true Confederate soldier, as I was with him four yeas in the Confederate Army. J. R. Hughes
Enlisted March 10, 1862, from Carrollton, Miss. was captured at Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, Nov. 24, 1863, and was released at Rock Island, Illinois, May 16, 1865.
Wife's name Margaret Gordon Alderman
