Henry Schaetzer, 74, of Cleveland, died Monday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan following a brief illness.
He was born on May 18, 1882, in Sheboygan, the son of the late William and Dora Schaetzer. On March 16, 1906, he was united in marriage to Olga Steffen. The couple operated a farm in the Town of Mosel until 1945, when they moved to Cleveland. His wife preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 1954.
He was a member of St. John and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at St. John and St. Peter Lutheran Church. The Rev. Eldon Bode, pastor, will be in charge of services and burial will be on the family lot in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral Home in Cleveland from 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon until 11 o'clock Thursday morning and then at the church until the time of services.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Florence) Klein, of Sheboygan, Mrs. Arno (Eleanor) Huhn, of Cleveland, and Mrs. Elmer (Elsie) Klein, also of Cleveland; two sons, William, of Edwards, and Hubert, of Sheboygan; one brother, Edwin, of Sheboygan; and one sister, Mrs. Alma Thomson, of Sheboygan; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, one brother, one granddaughter, and one great-grandchild.
