Al was survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Alice Arsenault; seven children: Ed Arsenault of Killeen, Texas; Nikki Joseph (husband John) of Albuquerque, Alana Bennett (husband Russ) of Modesto, California; Roylene Mills (husband Les) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Jo Hughes (husband Dave) of Dalbo, Minnesota; Roy Arsenault and Cyndee Tabhan of San Antonio, Texas; and Jon Arsenault (wife Gina) of Albuquerque; sisters: Florence Hernandez of Florida and Beverly Houghton of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
After high school, Al enlisted in the United States Air Force and retired after serving for 21 years. Al served as a Security Police Officer and Military Training Instructor. After retirement, he was the Chief of Police on the Towaoc Indian Reservation in Colorado. Al then moved to Stanley, New Mexico and worked as a Security Guard at Sandia National Labs. Al also received a degree in Business Administration. Al spent his final years living in Hawley, Texas before moving last year to the Albuquerque/Rio Rancho area, in order to be close to family.
Funeral services were held at French-Westside Chapel on June 28, 2012. Internment followed at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors.
The family requested in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made in Albert's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation, New Mexico Chapter, 9500 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Ste 121; in Albuquerque.
