Lawrence "Larry" F. Carlson, age 91, of Buffalo, formerly of Annandale died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Parkview Care Center, Buffalo.

Funeral Services were held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Maple Lake with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey B. Palmer officiating. Burial followed at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale Minnesota. Friends called beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials were preferred to Parkview Care Center.

Lawrence Ferdinand Carlson was born June 7, 1919 in Grandy, MN to Franklin and Elvina (Peterson) Carlson. Larry proudly served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. He was united in marriage to Matilda M. Zahn on January 16, 1943 on Pier 9 in New York City. Matilda preceded him in death in November of 1975. Larry married Florence Anderson in 1976 in Maple Lake. Larry worked as a machinist for Kellogg and retired from his working career while working for Burton Construction. Larry enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be fishing, raising birds, gardening, or hunting for deer, pheasants and ducks. He enjoyed woodworking and always had a wonderful sense of humor, and had a special knack for telling stories.

Survived by children, Larry (Jeannie) of Coon Rapids, Donna (Glenn) Tornell of Fargo, ND, Frank (Janice) of Hanover, Veronica (Walt) Horton of Sloan, IA, Doug (Jennie) of Maple Grove, and Greg of Robbinsdale; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Genevieve Larson of Howard Lake, Verona (Bernie) Broman of Indianapolis, and Carl (Norma) Carlson of Annandale. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Matilda and Florence; granddaughter, Erica Halvorson; and brothers, Andy, Waldor, Richard and Ellsworth.

Pallbearers wrere Adam, Glenn and Cliff Tornell, Chris and Ron Carlson, and Walt Horton. Music for the service was provided by Myrna Jude, and Brian and Molly Fitzpatrick. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
