Edward Augustus "Gus" Hollister was the son of Myron Reuben & Julia Ann (Terry) HOLLISTER.

Gus married 1st) Mary Jane OWEN and had one child:

1) Ella HOLLISTER (1871-)

Mary Jane died before 1873 at which point, Gus married 2nd) Alice Cornelia CALHOUN, the daughter of William Glynn & Maranda J. (Harper) CALHOUN on December 25th, 1873 on the front porch of the Calhoun home. They were married in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

Gus & Alice had eleven children, nine which survived to adulthood:

Gus was a member of the Methodist Church and worked as a farmer. He died on January 15th, 1930 of chronic nephrites at the home of his son, Ivy.
