Isabel was the daughter of James and Elizabeth McKerlie. She was first married to Erastus Parker, who died, leaving her a widow. They had a son, Erastus T. Parker.

Her second marriage was to Asa P. Kenyon on 22 September 1847 at Fawn River, Saint Joseph, Michigan, at the home of James McKerlie by Christopher Corey, Minister of the Presbyterian Church at Sherman, Michigan (FHL 1295528).

They had a son, Dewitt who died when he was young, daughter Mary Elizabeth who married Samuel Emmons Hudson of Lima, Indiana, and second son, Frank Kenyon.
