Harriet M. Haugen, 88, Grand Forks, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Harriet Marie Hanson was born at Pekin, North Dakota on July 15, 1924 to Harry and Marie (Tangen) Hanson. She graduated from Cooperstown High School and later from Aaker's Business College. She married Robert "Bob" L Hunt in 1948. Harriet Hanson and Clarion O. Haugen were united in marriage on July 8, 1958 in Grand Forks.

Harriet was employed as a dental assistant in the offices of Dr. Oscar Nord, and later by Dr. Homer Rovelstad until she retired.

She enjoyed reading, fishing and spending time with her husband and family at Lake Plantagenet.

Harriet is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Terry) O'Neil, Grand Forks, Susan Grove, Fountain Hills, AZ, grandchildren, Stacy (Tim) Palya, Shakopee, MN, Jamie (Greg) Martinson, Grafton, ND, Lindsay Gilbertson, Scottsdale, AZ, and Lauren McKinley, Fountain Hills, AZ; 3 great-grandchildren, Derrick and Allison Palya, and Kaileigh Martinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarion who died July 30, 2003, a sister, Ethel R. Hanson, and a brother, Robert Hanson.

Funeral Services: will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church.

Interment: Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
