Burling Duffield Prince was the son of Benjamin and Florence Perrine (Simpson) Prince. He was brother to Sidney Wallace Prince. He married, first, in 1908 to Edna Virginia Williams and became the father to Burling Duffield Prince, Jr. and Charles Walton Prince. He married, second, in 1917 to Kathleen Marie Loughlin and became the father of Florence Lockwood Prince Rogers Martin, Ben Willoughby Prince, Kathleen Marie Prince Baker Pratt and Margaretta Duffield Prince Williams. He married, third, Gertrude Hanlon Sullivan in 1952 and became step-father to Don and Jack Sullivan. Burling was known as Babs to his family and friends and Popsey to his grandchildren. Burling attended Pennsylvania State College and became a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. His major was agriculture. For approximately four years he ran several poultry farms. Burling changed professions and worked for several insurance companies, serving as fire inspector, president and adjustor. Burling was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed life and wrote about it in his memoir "Pleasant Rememberings." He had a passion for genealogy as well as seen in the "Burling D. Prince Ancestral Record." Both of the mentioned books were published in 2009 by Burling's great granddaughter Marisa Williams.
