She was born on December 22, 1935, in Wayzata, Minnesota daughter of the late Erv and Ruby Barlau.
Janet was a graduate of Long Lake High School, Minnesota, class of 1954. On April 30, 1956, she married Donald "Don" Quint, who lovingly called her his "Child Bride," in Iowa. The couple resided in Minnesota until 1960 then went to New Jersey and later relocated to Manitowoc.
Janet was the apartment manager of Parkview Haven for the past 28 years and enjoyed the people who reside there. Janet and her husband enjoyed Friday nights at Studio 8 and wanted to say "Thank you Bob & Patty Knox". She loved flowers, animals and most of all time spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years: Don Quint; two sons and daughter-in-laws: Greg and Sharon Quint, Mike and Claudette Quint; one granddaughter: Amanda Quint, all of Manitowoc; a brother and sister-in-law: Kenny and Diane Barlau, Minn.; a sister and brother-in-law: Joyce and Jerry Donaghue, Minn.; a brother-in-law: Gary Stevenson, Minn.; and a sister-in-law: Joy (Randy) Evans, Texas. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Patty Barlau, Carol Stevenson; two brother-in-laws: Lee Quint, Jim (Pat) Quint, and "Pretty Lady" her cat.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial service will be Rev. Richard Miller.
The family will greet relatives at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009, until the time of memorial service at 11 a.m.
