Elaine Celia Barman, 57, of New Market, MD died Sunday, August 5, 2012 surrounded by family and loved ones after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the spouse of Ajit Barman for nearly 38 years.Born Tuesday, October 12, 1954, she was the daughter of her late parents Edmund and Frances Schwartz.Elaine was a technical recruiter for 14 years and office manager for Altek Information Technology in Frederick for five years.She had a great love for gardening, scrapbooking, crafts, traveling and dogs. She traveled the world, threw parties for friends and family, and made delicious perogies. She was a beloved mother and caretaker.She is survived by her husband, Ajit Barman; brother, Raymond Schwartz; daughter, Monika Barman; son, Dave Barman; son, Kris Barman;granddaughter Matilda Barman, and dog Chutney.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, 5-9 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, MD with Deacon Roff to lead Catholic prayers.A memorial service will be held August 8, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral home following cremation with Deacon Dan Roff officiating.You may make a donation to Johns Hopkins University for Pancreatic Cancer Research in Elaine Barman's name.
