Nellie died June 3, 1919, leaving Clarence a widower with five children.
Clarence second married Georgia Elizabeth Lea, who was born March 5, 1905 in Lark, Oklahoma (Marshall County), daughter of James Samuel Lea (1873-1947) and Eliza Melvina Lee (1878-1966).

Gilstrap, an automobile repair machinist, age 48, born in Kansas; and his wife, Georgia Gilstrap, age 25, born in Oklahoma. Living with them were three children, the eldest from Clarence's former marriage: Eugene B. Gilstrap, age 18, born in Kansas; Waunita Gilstrap, age 5, born in Oklahoma; and Myron L. Gilstrap, age 2 years 1 month, born in Oklahoma. Also living with the family was Clarence's father, Joseph Gilstrap, a widower, age 88, born in Kansas.
