Corporal Lewis W. Bonnin, Company B. Corporal Bonnin was wounded in hip at Gettysburg while carrying the flag; he managed to save the flag,but not himself and was captured by Confederates. Paroled, he was later
transferred to the Veteran Reserve and discharged on September 11, 1864.

Bonnin – Suddenly on October 16, 1901, Louis W. Bonnin in his 64th year. Funeral on Saturday at 1:30 o'clock from his late residence No. 128 East Washington lane, Germantown. Harmony Chapter, No 52, Stephen Girard Lodge, No 450 F and A.M. Apollo Encapment No. 38; Oriental Castle No. 25. K.G. E Ellis Post, No 6. G.A.R. surviving members of the Eighty-Eighth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers; employees of Louis W. Bonnin and all other organizations of which he was a member are invited. Interment at the Fernwood Cemetery.
