Bazil ‘Sonny' Pack Jr.

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Bazil "Sonny" Pack Jr., died suddenly August 5, 2012, at his home in Pickerington.

He was born in Hinton, W.Va., on February 25, 1947, to Bazil Bert Pack Sr., and Gladys Helen "Peg" (Reed) Pack.

In 1965 he graduated from Kyger Creek High School in Cheshire, Ohio. Bert served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Charter Member of the American Motorcyclist Association and was truly happy riding with fellow cyclists and friends. In 1976, he became a Master in the Siloam No. 456 Lodge of the Masons, an honor also bestowed on his father and brother.

He felt blessed to have married Vicki (Sykes) Conrad on December 1, 1984, becoming a father to Alex. Bert had a 35-year career at Germain Toyota, where he earned the respect and friendship of many co-workers and customers. In recent years, he drove a school bus for the Pickerington School District. He enjoyed his daily interactions with the children and he will be missed by them and by his co-workers at Peterman. Bert enjoyed his friends and relatives immensely, loving to tease and play practical jokes on them. He possessed a strong, quiet faith in God and was always generous with his time and talents.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Gladys "Bunny" Belville, and his daughter, Resa.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki; son Alex Conrad; brother, Ron (Patsy); brother-in-law, Ralph Belville; brother-in-law, Bruce (Cindy) Sykes; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 8th, at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home And Crematory, 550 Hill Road North (State Rt. 256), Pickerington, OH 43147, where a memorial service will follow, Chaplain Michelle Lemiesz officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of choice.
