David Owen Dyer, Sr., 66, of Winston-Salem, NC died of lung cancer.

He was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University and attended Southeastern Theological Seminary. He worked in various North Carolina churches as Minister of Music and Education. During this period, he wrote several articles published by Southern Baptist periodicals and one book, Upstream: The History of Clemmons Baptist Church, which was published by the church.

For a three-year period he and his wife, Ella, owned and operated the Clemmons Book Store. He later became fascinated with the possibility of digital publishing and was instrumental in pioneering a marketplace for e-published books. He started Renebooks.com in 1999. But, more importantly, he did a lot of great things for hopeful writers, giving many a start and the courage to live their dreams.

David wrote many books including erotic fiction and a stamp collecting book called: "Is Stamp Collecting the Hobby for You?" His books are available on amazon.com and Renaissance E Books.
