John Vowels, 65, formerly of Raywick, died Tuesday morning at Waverly Hills Sanatorium, following about thirteen months illness of tuberculosis. He had been seriously ill for several weeks.
Mr. Vowels was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Vowels. Before obtaining employment in Louisville several years ago, he made his home with his sister, Mrs. Mary Eiden, all of Raywick. Three sisters survive, Mrs. Eiden, who is now with her daughter in Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Bob Crowdus, of Morganfield, and Mrs. M. L. Costello of Raywick.
Three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Bowman, Mrs. Tessie Payne and Mrs. Kate Crowdus, and two brothers, Ben and Walker Vowels are deceased.
NOTE: His grandparents were Matthew Vowels and Mary Jane (Moore) Vowels and Henry and Susan Frances (Ray) Mattingly.
