Casper was born in Sauk City, Wisconsin during January 1851. It is believed that his tombstone is incorrect in that he lived 87 yrs, 7 mos, 10 dys, based on his obituary.

His parents were Hans Luzian Accola (1809-1889) and Barbara Wolf (1823-1906). He married Martha Bantli in 1871 or 1872.

Casper and Martha had the following children.

Following Martha's death on 23-Sep-1906, Casper married the wife of his late 2nd cousin John Martin Accola, Elizabeth "Elsbeth" Rothenberger Accola in 1912.

Casper was a farmer and took up woodcarving in his later years. Many of his wood figurines, miniature farm implements, and useful household items are dispersed throughout Casper's descendants in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
