Saturday afternoon Levi M. Billings died suddenly at his home on Union street. Mr. Billings was an old gentleman well known to many of the early residents of the city.
He was born in Royalton, Vt. October 19, 1798, and was consequently over 88 years of age at the time of his death. When a comparatively middle aged man he came west and settled at Freeport. Ill., but afterwards moved to this city where be bas since continued to reside.
He leaves two children, Mr. Edward Billings who lives in Kansas and Mrs. Laura L. Osborn, a resident of this city. The funeral will be held from the residence on Union street tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock.
