Bill R. Dye, 58, 1103 Colonial Drive, died at 9:50 a.m. Monday, August 27, 1979, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a four-month illness.

Born July 18, 1921, in Egypt, Ark., son of Mr. and Mrs. George Dye. Lived 12 years in Rockford. Married to the former Juanita Lee in Lepanto, Ark., Jan. 11, 1946.

Employed as a truck driver by Barber-Colman Co. 12 years. Veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines in South Pacific. Member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Attended Arkansas schools.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita; seven sons, William Dye, Jr., James, Larry, Jerry, Frank, Jeffrey and Tim, all of Rockford; five daughters, Donna Dye and Mrs. Barbara Shirley, both of Rockford, Mrs. Rita Lewellen, Pekin, and Mrs. Brenda Lisney and Mrs. Sara Teaster, both of Loves Park; and thirteen grandchildren.

Services at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 2020 Vermont St., with the Rev. Hubert Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at DELEHANY FUNERAL HOME, 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
