He was the son of Alex and Alma "Billie" Allen, now deceased.

In recent years, Lloyd has been involved with the Colorado River Water Board regarding water issues for several southwest states. This proved to be Lloyd's biggest challenge. A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 3rd in Erickson Gymnasium at the Calipatria High School.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Luz of Calipatria; son Kyle and daughter-in-law Meg of Calipatria; son Tim and daughter-in-law Tina of Brawley; sister Bette and brother-in-law Preston Curtis of Phoenix, AZ; and sister Lexie Jo and brother-in-law Don Benson of Aromas, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Calipatria Community Church, both located in Calipatria, in memory of Lloyd.
