Rose Marie Julian, of Watson, passed away Tuesday (Aug. 10, 2010) at her home.

She was born June 3, 1922, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Abruzzino. She was married for 60 years to the late John "Tubby" Julian, the absolute love of her life, who passed away Sept. 6, 2005.

Rose was a wonderful cook, baker, homemaker and canner. She loved gardening, and flowers were her passion. She enjoyed all of these things to the fullest, also spending time with all of her family. She was very well known as the "Pepper Queen" of Watson. A jar of her canned peppers was truly a collectible. Early in her life she worked at Westinghouse Lighting, and Smith Produce, later retiring from The Queen Shop as a manager at Middletown Mall. She enjoyed crossword, Sudoku and crypto quote puzzles daily. She was Catholic by faith, and a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Watson and belonged to the St. Theresa's Guild.

Survivors include her two children from Fairmont, daughter Barbara Julian Garner and husband Ted and son William "Billy" Julian and wife Tricia; four adorable and loving grandchildren, Mia Julian Davis and husband Melvin of Fairmont, Christina Julian of Sarasota, Fla., John Julian and wife Jessica of Bridgeport, and Patrick Julian, who resided with his grandmother; a great-grandson, Anthony Julian, the pride and joy of our entire family; three sisters, Katy Poster of Fairmont, Virginia Zuspan and husband Carl of Taylor County, and Patty Abruzzino of Sunrise Acres, Grafton; four brothers, John Abruzzino of Fairmont, Frank Abruzzino and wife Virginia of Newberry, Ohio, Danny Abruzzino and wife Connie of Fairmont, and Michael "Micky" Abruzzino and wife Linda of Fairmont; three sisters-in-law, Connie Onderko of Kingmont, Betty Julian of Fairmont, and Nellie Abruzzino of Akron, Ohio; plus several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Abruzzino and Sammy Abruzzino; two sisters, Mary Christian and Betty Jean Abruzzino; four brothers-in-law, Anthony "Lefty" Christian, Domonick Poster, Same "Ace" Julian and George Onderko; sister-in-law, Helen Abruzzino; and best friend, Senia Lucente.

Family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont, from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Watson. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
