Pastor Larry Arnold Beaver, age 74, of Liberty Hill Church Road, Mt. Gilead, North Carolina, passed away on August 10, 2012 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, following a brief illness.
Born on September 4, 1937 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Charlie William and Elsie Childress Beaver. Pastor Beaver was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Louise Beaver McKnight.
He served as Pastor of Long Hill Baptist Church for twenty-five years and Pastor of Unity Baptist Church in Kannapolis for eight years.
Pastor Beaver is survived by his wife of fifty years, Elizabeth Little Beaver of the home, two sons, John Mark Beaver and wife, Sandra of Mt. Gilead, and Michael Ray Beaver and wife, Shannon of Seagrove, five grandchildren, Ashlynn Beaver and Laura Beaver of Mt. Gilead, Savannah Beaver, Logann Beaver and Raegan Beaver of Seagrove, one sister, Helen Childers of Salisbury, and one brother, Charlie William Beaver Jr.
The family received friends on August 11, 2012 at Long Hill Baptist Church in Candor, North Carolina, and other times at the home.
The funeral service was held on August 12, 2012 at Long Hill Baptist Church, with Pastors Mark Forrest, Brad Williams, Curtis Parker and Chip Bryant officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
