He worked for the Kansas City Stock Yards for 35 years, retiring in 1972. He was former fire chief for the Wyandotte County 2 volunteer Fire Department. He was survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter, a brother, two sisters, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
