Charlie Edward Freeborn, 97, of Moulton died Thursday at the Bloomfield Care Center.

He was born near Dean, Iowa, on March 16, 1891 to Richard and Mary Isabelle Albertson Freeborn. He married Minnie Belle Arie on September 8,1910 in Oakley, Kansas. He married Geraldine Horn on March 31, 1949 and she preceded him in death on May 30, 1980. He farmed most of his life. He was a member of Moulton Sincerity Lodge 317 of the Masonic Order.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virgie Allen; two brothers, Harry and Clarence; and two sisters, Mary and Marcy McKenzie. Survivors are two daughters, Vivian Marvin of Moulton and Beulah Sweden of Mesa, Arizona; two sons, Orville of Cincinnati and Gene of Floris, Iowa; two step sons, Dale Horn of Moulton and James Horn of Des Moines; 20 grandchildren and several great- and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Duley Funeral Home in Moulton with Rev. Duane Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton. A Masonic service was at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
