Born November 28, 1924, in Orrstown, he was a son of the late Daniel A. and Elizabeth G. Bashore Myers.
A 1942 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, he attended Shippensburg University and the University of Pittsburgh. A veteran of WWII, he served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 657th Battalion, in both the European and Pacific Theater of Operations.
For 27 years he was employed by the Chambersburg Broadcasting Company and in 1980 began working as a Realtor with Ausherman Brothers Real Estate in Chambersburg.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Franklin County Board of Realtors, Chambersburg Area Multi-List Association, Chambersburg Country Club, Chambersburg Lions Club, Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion and AARP Chapter 2840, Chambersburg. He was a life member of both the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #600 and Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW in Chambersburg. He had been active with the Hospice Golf Committee in Chambersburg.
Preceded in death: wife, Berdette Langenbacher Myers died May 15, 1995; sister, Lydia E. McCrae; brother, Alvin D. "Whitie" Myers.
Surviving are: nieces, Linda (Paul) Loy of Fayetteville, Patricia (Leroy) Piper of Carlisle and Gail (John) MacKenzie of Foster City, CA; nephews, John McCrae of East Waterford, PA, and Jesse Dan McCrae of Missouri.
