William T. (Bill) Boelter, age 83, formerly of 1692 Atlanta Circle, Manitowoc,
died Friday evening, Sept. 29, 2006, at St. Mary's Home in Manitowoc.
Bill was born in Manitowoc on Jan. 3, 1923, son of the late Joseph A. and Lyla L.
(Pilger) Boelter. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the Class
of 1941. Bill married the former Jane M. Jacobson on Feb. 23, 1946. She preceded
him in death on July 1, 1973. He then married the former Doris Buchholz on June 27,
1981. She preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 2002. Bill and his brother Bob owned
Boelter's Jewelry Store in Manitowoc, which was founded by their father, J.A.
Boelter. Bill and Bob retired from the jewelry store in May of 1988. Bill played
softball in the Manitowoc area from 1941-1971, and was inducted into the Manitowoc
County Softball Hall of Fame on Aug. 4, 1991, and was an honorary lifetime member
of the Rockea Hunting Club. He was also a member of the Viking Bow and Gun Club
and the Manitowoc Eagles.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and Bob Clayton of Manitowoc;
Nancy Boelter-Knab and Thomas Knab Jr., Oro Valley Ariz.; and Susan and Dave
Herrmann of Reifs Mills; two grandchildren: Scott (Jessica) Vogel of Manitowoc;
and Kim (Dan) Palenik of Racine; and three great-grandchildren: Madeline Marie
Vogel, Reid Anthony Palenik, and Brysen Boelter Vogel. He is also survived by one
sister and brother-in-law: Helen and Jerry Pias-kowski of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law:
Bob and Veronica Boelter; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Ione and Elroy Brick;
and a nephew: Jerry Piaskowski, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Pfeffer Funeral
Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi-Waldo with the Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski
O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Friends may
call on Monday, Oct. 2, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. A prayer
service will conclude the visitation at 7 p.m. led by the Rev. Gerald Foley.

nurses and aids on Tower One for the wonderful care and friendship shown to Bill
